"Words cannot describe how bad this movie is, but I will try anyway. There was no plot. The "monster/demon's" make up was something from a 60s horror movie. It was anticlimactic. I also didn't understand what was supposed to be happening and why. I would skip this one if I had a do-over."
"I REALLY DID enjoy this horror film and certain scenes DID cause me to jump, meaning this movie was a SUCCESS, doing what a horror film should do. All my yelling at the characters on the TV with: "Don't do that!" "No, no, no, don't go in the pool!" "Get out of the pool, NOW!" fell on deaf ears... I chose this movie based on the premise it was based on the hidden lurking terrors of a swimming pool, which I found intriguing, but it was @gabrielle_grosbety 's review that ultimately caused me to bump this up on my movie list. Now I'll think twice before jumping into a swimming pool in the future......"
"Watched this in theaters for an unforgettable experience on opening night! Let the lights go down and permit the power of the water to wholly take over! I just barely swum out alive as there were many intensely jarring visual effects to communicate the urgency of the difference between life and death. The pool was atmospherically lit by night and more unassuming, yet not less terrifyingly vengeful and sacrificial, by day. A family moves in not knowing the remarkably scary history of the house and the pool, with a father and family trying to heal from things they can’t always talk about: physical, emotional, mental, or otherwise. Every shot was packed with meaning and very communicative of impending doom and there were also jump scares abound to awaken you tenfold. All in all, a great thrill ride that swam steadily and incrementally viciously to the finish line. Everything about this movie was insidious as trauma gradually built and came to overrun this vulnerable household. "
"With good effects, decent jump scares, and a cliche and expected plot, this movie is okay. The performances are good, there's nothing really WRONG with this movie, but there are some details that could've been better. It can be a decent horror movie if you want something simple. It's just not going to keep you up, it won't make you want to rewatch it, and it won't be life changing. Overall, I think the plot/antagonist was a little weak, but it's a decent horror flick that feels big budget."
