"Liza Minnelli and Joel grey give brilliant performances in this disturbing glimpse of the rise of hitler’s nazi germany. The world of today can learn a lot about how facism takes hold."

"8/10
It's a great movie but I suppose I am a bit disappointed. The way people discuss it, I truly thought the n*zis would play a more prominent part. Don't get me wrong, the commentary isn't subtle I just expected a bigger shift in the movie. I suppose that's part of the point though, that it all happens in the background."
"It might be surprising to learn that I've just now watched this for the first time considering how up my alley it seems and is but I sometimes like to go for the more obscure and unknown before I go for something as celebrated as this. Partially to my detriment as this was as good as people have told me it is.
It's definitely a vibe going into this knowing the era it's set in and being introduced to all the characters in their various states of queerness and jewishness and non standard sexual proclivities. And the uneasiness of that is helped by the surreal way that the Cabaret scenes are shot.
I have seen the "tomorrow belongs to me" scene before in research for something a long time ago. I found it chilling then and it's even moreso in context. "
