"There was a long, long time that this was one of my favorite movies; not just animated, not just Pokémon, favorite MOVIES, period. While other movies tried for bigger and grander world-threatening stakes, the stakes here are more personal. The main antagonist is a lonely little girl who doesn’t realize the threat she’s indirectly created, and I can’t think of a better way to showcase how badass Entei is than this. This movie is a triumph, and the point Pokémon peaked in pop culture. "
