"This is an interesting Indian movie about the power the internet holds over all of us. And how vulnerable we are to the people who know how to control it. The entire movie is shown via technology, be it smart phone, lap top, pc, cctv, etc. The protagonist is Nella, a young Indian woman who has enjoyed a five year relationship with her boyfriend and business partner, Joe as they created content and earned money through their online presence, N-Joy. Things transpire that lead her to download an app called CTRL. From there we find out just how vulnerable we all are to apps, especially when we don't read the fine print. And who does THAT?! They do a fine job of quickly introducing us to Nella and Joe through their photos, videos, and social media account. Everything moves along at a rapid pace, just like the internet. And just like the internet, we lose out on really getting to know someone in such a fake environment. I don't feel like Nella and Joe are fleshed out in a way that makes us care about them. And the other people in their lives have zero impact on us, the viewers, as they are rarely seen and there is no backstory for anyone. Just like the internet, this felt shallow. There was a great message to consumers and the herd of sheep that are the online followers. Not sure if it hits home with any great impact though. 2.75/5*s"
