"This movie follows a dysfunctional family in the Philippines trying to survive during a zombie apocalypse. The opening scene was intriguing but it's downhill after that. Way too much emphasis on the family dynamics and way too little focus on the zombies. Swing and a miss, in my opinion. 4/10"

"Day 14 of #Spooktober I stumbled on this newly released Netflix film that literally came out the same day. All I needed to see was Zombie survivor and I was sold. I’m a big TWD fan so a movie where the world has gone to 💩 and I’m game. This is a filipino and english language film. And I like the creativity and direction the film went. I could easily see something like this happening in this crazy world. Definitely recommend if this sounds like your sub genre."

"Intense. Graphic. Trigger warning AF for Intergenerational Trauma. This movie is heaaaavy to say the least. I felt kind of blindsided going in and expecting the film to be a fun Horror Halloween theme night movie but realizing after an hour and a half in, that it is NOT a typical zombie horror film. If anything, this film is a huge examination of intergenerational trauma cycles and domestic violence, through the medium of horror as a setting. The film examines how childhood trauma cycles get passed down, cycles of domestic violence, different types of abuse, dysfunctional family dynamics, dysfunctional family roles, enmeshment and triangulation, the enabling of abuse by caregivers, dysfunctional family relationships like the golden child, the scapegoated child, family secrets, etc, and on. I am giving this film a 4 star review because the complex psychological and emotional dynamics were incredibly detailed and accurate. There are a bazillion triggers for childhood trauma survivors, domestic violence, child violence, graphic and disturbing images, graphic violence/gore, and others. "
