The story of Jody, a misguided, 20-year-old African-American who is really just a baby boy finally forced-kicking and screaming to face the commitments of real life. Streetwise and jobless, he has not only fathered two children by two different women-Yvette and Peanut but still lives with his own mother. He can't seem to strike a balance or find direction in his chaotic life.

"Can you say nostalgia? Damn this each really a masterpiece from John Singleton. I haven’t seen it since my childhood years. I was so young and really hadn’t lived life yet so it was certain situations I don’t think I actually could grasp from a personal level.I’m not a big fan of Tyrese Gibson and most people probably would say Fast and Furious was his best movie but this is it for me personally. Watching now 20+ years later it has a major emotional weight to it. It’s super relatable to how a lot of us from inner cities grew up. So many iconic scenes and monologues ingrained in my memory. Too bad they don’t make films like this anymore but I guess that’s why it’s a classic."

"Lots of complex emotions. Ving Rhames is fantastic, and Snoop Dogg is a stand out! Tyrese and Taraji did a great job relaying the drug that love can be, how you truly can be addicted to one another. Fear, passion, malice, love, revenge, anger, and friendship are just a few of the themes these characters wrestle with. Great to watch if you are looking for a romance with lots of moving parts. Enjoy! "
