"This is a good film with some excellent sequences. However, with its reputation as THE paranoid thriller of the 70s, I was expecting more. Warren Beatty is solid in the lead role but he keeps the audience at arms length. The film’s villains somehow seem to be omnipotent and clueless at the same time. I’m guessing this film hit a lot harder when it came out, since it was released after a decade of real life political assassinations in the U.S. and abroad. I just didn’t feel near the level of tension in this film that in I did in films like The Conversation or All the President’s Men. 3.5 out of 5 stars."

"This is a masterclass in political thriller! Warren Beaty really kills it in this movie, and so does the rest of the cast. I also thought the length of the film was perfect, leaving little room for filler. The camerawork was amazing and I loved some of the editing choices in the film. Honestly, this is a thriller that has aged gracefully! "
