"I saw this movie suggested to me on my Amazon Prime movie page, and I thought: 💭 🤔 Why not? I didn't know that Christopher Reeve was in a movie with Sir Michael Caine. I believe that this movie deserves more than three stars. While it is true that a twisted and winding plot can be dizzying, 🙂↔️ writing such a plot in an intelligent way has to be extremely hard to do. At times, the characters' acting is a bit over the top, but since this movie is based on a play, I figured the characters are SUPPOSED to be over the top with their lines. And boy do I LOVE 😍 being surprised! 😁 I had no idea which way this plot was going. I hadn't seen Christopher Reeve in this type of film before. What a treat to see him dig into a part that seemed made for him! I feel so outsmarted by this plot, but in a GOOD way. I am so glad that I found this movie...by accident...! 😂"
"Sidney Lumet helms this lively, twisty adaptation of the long running play. Its labyrinth of mind games and double crosses are similar to Michael Caine’s earlier masterpiece, Sleuth. Caine seems to be having a ball here as a desperate playwright who is willing to do anything to turn around his flagging fortunes.
Christopher Reeve surprised me by holding his own opposite Caine (because I only knew him from his somewhat wooden performances as Superman). This one’s a must for people who like mind game movies or fun murder mysteries."
