"The Rise of Skywalker feels like the first pass of a script for an entire trilogy. If it was given a ton more thought, a different villain, planets that aren't just deserts, and it's own trilogy, the story of ROS would be amazing. What we got though is a rushed mess full of boring cinematography, uninspired environments, character homicide, and an ending thats laughably bad. "
"My first thought after walking out the theater. “Man this felt rushed. Too many things happening so little time to breathe. Oh look the same enemy as the last two trilogies, how quaint. They didn’t know what to do with Finn outside of him yelling Rey’s name.” Yea this movie… this movie man. 😔 "
"It’s decent but has flawed story telling. Palpatine is back for no good reason. With Finn never even getting to tell Rey something important. That he wanted to tell her.
Why have him even bring it up if he never tells her ? Then you have Rey just making up that she is a Skywalker. To make up for really being a Palpatine.
JJ wasn’t the best person to end the series since he just copies and paste from other movies. Rise is pretty much not that different from Return of the Jedi. With weaker story telling though."
"Great special effects. JJ tried to fix errors created in the previous movie, but there wasn’t enough time to do that. The story was weak, especially when viewed in line with the larger story of the Skywalkers. Disappointed at the attempt at romance. 👎👎👎"

"This movie lacks a clear vision, instead dedicating a lot of time to reversing changes from the last jedi. Some of those changes are pretty poor and tie into the main plot. Somehow, Palpatine has returned. There is literally no explanation. Palpatine is hiding out on a planet that we've never heard of, thereby creating a conflict with The Clone Wars. His plan is boring and his so called final order is strange. Apparently, he's left clues to finding the planet scattered around. But why would he do that? The pacing is awful. There's so much more that's wrong."

"Better than the previous installment but doesn't really connect very well with the previous movies. The movie goes a completely different direction that is just seemingly out of left field to fix previous mistakes. The TV shows like The Mandalorian are adding context to these directions in the time period which could make the movie age slightly better."
"Ive been there right from the beginning!! Love Star Wars and the newer ones are really good! The producers and directors did not disappoint. "
