Hammer of the Gods

"This is a good period adventure set in the times of the Vikings. The movie stars Clive Standen, Elliot Cowan, and other supporting actors. I was impressed at the quality of this film although the plot is fairly simple. One of the male heirs to a Kingdom must go on a dangerous journey to find his reluctant brother who may want to vie for his chance to rule. On the way to his brother's hidden location, some intense battles are fought, friendships are violently broken, and family ties hang in the balance. The plot is good overall with strong performances from all of the cast, as well as intense fighting scenes. But the plot takes a strange turn in the last half an hour; so strange that it seems like a different movie altogether. all That being said, I still like this story of a man who must prove himself as a warrior, and possibly, a future ruler.
