As Tears Go By

"This is certainly Wong Kar Wai's most accessible yet grittiest film out of his entire body of work. He establishes his trademark filmmaking style in his directing debut. I really enjoyed how the film didn't just focus on romantic relationships but platonic friendships as well. The entire cast was superb. Action sequences were well shot, and the signature slow motion really enhanced its intensity. My only problem is the "love story" that is 1/2 of the entire film. Didn't understand the reason as to why it happened and the nature of the relationship is weird. Overall, this was a very solid debut from legendary filmmaker Wong Kar Wai. "
