"I was truly surprised how much I liked this sequel to the great 1980s sci-fi thriller. The plot is similar in that main character becomes involved with an organization that experiments on scanners, and also wants to use them for political purposes. The sequel expounds on the experimental drug that was given to the inmates, and how they were victims of what is seen as progress. I was happy to see Raoul Trujillo in a great role, even though he played the villain. The makeup effects were pretty fair for the time period, and there is a good amount of suspense towards the last half of the movie. (Warning: ⚠️ There is a scene of a human head explosion 💥🤯 as in the original, and others acts of violence). "
