"This is a spectacular and candid raw look at the lives of three people, with the backdrop of Broadway plays. I was really impressed at the performance of Bing Crosby as a vulnerable and weak man who is trying to find his way in life in the autumn of his career. William Holden and Grace Kelly round out the cast. Grace Kelly plays the neglected and frustrated wife of Crosby, while William Holden plays the driven and arrogant Broadway producer who must hone Crosby back into performing shape. There are singing and dancing numbers and great backstage interactions that drive the plot along, and give us a glimpse into the background of each character. "
