"This was a dollar tree dvd purchase. I didnt know anything about the movie but it sounded interesting. I'm not a Toby Mcguire fan really but He took this part and he owned it. Now I can't imagine anyone else playing this part. Key words I might use are chess, paranoia, possible schizophrenia. It was interesting, captivating, frustrating and sad.
****Spoiler Alert********
I just realized the name of this movie is basically the Spoiler of this movie. Bobby Fischer was getting deeper into his mental disorders and paranoia. His sister wanted to get him professional help but people didn't allow him to get help because he was the U.S.'s best chance to beat the Russians. They allowed him to loose his mind like a sacrifice."
"I watched "Searching for Bobby Fisher" years ago. I had a vague idea of who this American chess legend was from that movie. This movie goes into detail of who he was and the pressure he was under to defeat the Soviets and prove that America was better then communists. Toby Maguire effectively portrays the intensity of Bobby as the pressure and complexity of the game seem to unravel his mind."
