"A powerful and haunting character study, with an equally haunting performance by Jack Nicholson (easily one of his all-time best)."

"Nicholsons acting is really what made Bobby an interesting character to analyze. Bobby is so smart, but he lacks any clear direction in his life, and drowns himself in meaningless sex, destorying his relationship with Rayette, and lack of clear want on what to do. He hates being look down upon, and nothing will beat the diner scene when he told the lady to put the chicken between her legs.
A very brash character that you wonder why he runs from himself."
