"I remember seeing this in theater opening night and it was horrifyingly scary because of how realistic the disaster is. Oil rigs are scary because of their potential for disaster is so high and this film has an incredibly important story to tell about what happened to the Deepwater Horizon. This movie is one of it not the best reali life disaster movies ever made."
"A suspenseful, no-holds-barred look at the Deepeater Horizon tragedy. Not only is this a heart pounding survival thriller, but it's a critique of the way that big corporations are allowed to operate and who gets hurt when they break the rules. Really good storytelling, I enjoyed this movie greatly and think it's an important story to tell. Definitely anxiety inducing at times, this will give you a fear of oil rigs and/or showering."
"Good enough disaster movie, and a good watch if you like the genre, but imo, not a great movie. We see the accident and the escape from the platform, with very good special effects, but nothing more. There is no strong connection to any person and little suspense, and so despite the catastrophe, emotions have a hard time coming through the screen, and the movie feels more flat than it should. It made me think of a video version of a NTSB report on a plane crash."
