"This was the first “Dracula” movie I ever saw … I saw it with my older cousins in a small-town drive-in theater when I was a young kid (that was a real treat) — This movie is where I learned that vampires had to be killed by driving a wooden stake through the heart & that the sun could also effectively kill a vampire☀️
🎥 MOVIE TRIVIA: Blacula, filmed in 1972, was the first ever ‘blaxploitation’ horror film & was one of the highest-grossing films that year — and according to ‘Rotten Tomatoes,’ Blacula is beautiful, a totally entertaining movie that is not only a successful satire... but also provides a number of genuinely terrifying moments. Shakespeare thespian William Marshall has the title role, and excels in it. #blackhistorymonth "
