"This was a beautiful, emotionally stirring, desperately sad, yet hopeful towards the end, film. Five Turkish sisters have to live under the strictness of a conservative household and yearn to be free and young and able to breathe, as one sister puts it so eloquently. They are stifled and struggle through various phases of their lives and seek to escape and go somewhere far away. All they want to be able to do is live and let live and experience the world. Their story made me feel and ache deeply for the ways in which these sisters were tied down and reminded that every little action in this society has short-term and lifelong consequences amid cultural expectations. "
