"My main issue with this film?
The monster.
I have a very hard time taking creatures seriously in horror films. And, when any inconsistencies pop up, I find myself easily aggravated because I’m already trying to accept a creature as a villain.
It’s seemingly impossible for me to be patient with melodramatic moments between the human characters in the midst of evil creatures.
I know this about myself, but every so often I give it another shot after finding some excuse to do so: “It’s an A24 film”, “It’s from the Director of…”, etc.
The thing is, I liked the build up in this film. I was even still kind of intrigued when the creature first attacked and wasn’t shown in any detail.
My recommendation… give it a chance if you enjoy creatures in thrillers/horrors. But, if you’re like me, just keep scrolling titles."
