"This feels like a compendium of Studio Ghibli's key themes - the fragility of nature, flying machines, walking buildings, a talking cat - filtered through Tintin's pulpy European sensibilities. The animation is beautiful, the steampunk vibe of alternate-history Paris is consistently inventive and surprising, and the adventures keen on rolling. The big finale felt like it was on the very brink of topping into silliness but pulled it together for a very sweet finale - really good fun, and a real treat for the senses."
