"Great film. Many will suggest it to you as your first Valentino film—this is what happened with me, and I definitely do *not* recommend. It’s awkward to explain, but some directing choices for this film resulted in an, at times, unnatural Valentino. His true ability was not permitted to shine. Instead, get your feet wet with “Blood and Sand,” “The Eagle,” or even “The Son of The Sheik” first. Should the last film be your choice, obviously some scenes won’t make sense, as it is a sequel to this film. But, my recommendation stands firm anyway. Just watch the films in reverse order :)"

"NGL the first chapter has one of the best hooks I've ever read, it's enough to carry the book. The writing great and although alot of plot points and the main character's "development" has aged like milk it's still an enjoyable read, even though I can only stomach to re-read the first five chapters the author has sold me on traveling to the desert abiet the tourist traps.
