"Some scenes aren’t kid friendly. The movie was enjoyable, but I recommend for parents to watch this before or together with your kids. "

"It's not something I ever want to put on. I did enjoy some characters and seeing Puss' origin. However, I also hated watching this movie. I didn't care much for the ending. And truly, it just made me confused, since I was a fan of Shrek. At least, with penguins of Madagascar, they made it fit into the Madagascar stories. This one is clearly meant to be a prequel but doesn't finish the plotline. It needed a sequel. Luckily, we got one, yet they kept everything vague when it came to Shreks life. It felt like a cheap cop-out, which dreamworks didn't seem to often do. I expect that from Disney, especially when it comes to spin-offs or sequels, but not Dreamworks.
Still, the movie is clever in many ways. It never disappoints when it comes to name credit end sequences at least. Plus, the animation is still nice. I do enjoy the oooo cat. He's my favorite, even though that stick can be a bit overdone. I enjoy it.
Plus, a lot of the moments felt forced to make the plot work. It's not bad, just not something you expect from a dreamworks movie. Dreamworks gives you incredible stories with comedy and fantastical elements. Yet this one just felt forced throughout. Whether it be Puss having a tragic backstory to work or just making sure the story ends the way it does.
I will admit, though, I truly liked the actual backstory part of Puss' life. Him as a kitten, that is. Now that I really found fun and good.
But, I can't recommend this. It's good enough to be a movie, but it's not good enough for me to keep. It's one of 2 movies I owned and actually got rid of. I never get rid of movies because I know I'll want to watch them in the future. But I got rid of this one. I only got it back when the sequel came out.
The sequel makes this movie worth watching more than once. Otherwise, watch it to see why Puss is Puss in Boots and then move on. "
"Thoroughly charming movie, with strong voice acting (especially from Antonio Banderas and Zach Galifanakis). The 2nd movie was clearly better (especially animation and charm wise), but an enjoyable viewing experience nevertheless."

""Puss in Boots" is like a fairy tale on steroids, a magical adventure that had both parents and kids in my house glued to the screen. And let's talk about Perrito – that cute little sidekick stole the show with his big eyes and even bigger heart (rub🥺)! This movie's got action, laughter, and enough charm to make even the grumpiest villain crack a smile. It's a purr-fect choice for family movie night, whisking you away on a heartwarming and hilarious journey that you won't want to end. "
