"There are a lot of great actors in this who-done-it. Peter Ustinov plays the role of Hercule Poirot. David Niven, Angela Lansbury, Bette Davis and Mia Farrow round out the cast of seasoned actors. I enjoyed watching the story play out: who kills the heiress aboard a luxury yacht? The story unfolded more like a stage play than a film, which was fine. But I felt more like the actors, with the exception of Peter Ustinov, Bette Davis and David Niven, were simply going from one line to the next instead of acting and making the part comfortable. But overall, I always enjoy a well written detective story, especially Agatha Christie."
"I think watched this movie with my parents when I was little. Great cast. Great performances. I don't know which movie or TV version of this story I like more, possibly the tv version from poirot but these media portrayals are all fun to me. I love poirot stories but probably not as much as some. I actually read the book to this one and I'd say the media portrayals cannot come close to the beauty of the actual book. "
"The definitive big-screen version of Agatha Christie's classic. I mean, the interaction between Bette Davis's Mrs. Van Schuyler and Dame Maggie Smith's Miss Bowers is worth the price of admission (figuratively speaking) alone. And unlike Albert Finney from "Murder on the Orient Express" Peter Ustinov better embodies the finicky, peculiar nature of Hercule Poirot, one of the better interpretations - until David Suchet came along, of course. If you feel the need to watch a cinematic adaptation of Christie's novel, avoid Branagh's poorly written and inaccurate attempt and watch this version instead. I mean, come on! Angela Lansbury as Salome Otterbourne is simply fabulous!"

"The Queen of Mystery always managed to write a good whodunit. "
