"Equal parts boring and interesting. More of a visual poem than a narrative movie and not exactly a subtle one between the idyllic childhood footage and the wartorn "future" footage. Although the barbed wire fence in the background of the childhood footage may point to a similar darkness existing then too.
I have a lot of respect for Jarman and I'm glad I watched this. I also have issues with sitting in silence which affects how engaged I can be in things without dialogue.
My issues aside I appreciate this movie both personally and politically. Not sure if you could guess but I'm not a huge Thatcher fan either."
