In the year of 2039, after World Wars destroy much of the civilization as we know it, territories are no longer run by governments, but by corporations; the mightiest of which is the Mishima Zaibatsu. In order to placate the seething masses of this dystopia, Mishima sponsors Tekken, a tournament in which fighters battle until only one is left standing.

"This martial arts video game franchise movie definitely features style over substance. There is not a lot of depth to understand in the plot. Simply put: Tekken is a corporation which took over a large city as a sort of government. Fighters challenge one another to gain a popular and powerful title, and thus have a better life than a typical citizen. Starring Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa and John Foo, this is a poorly edited movie which contains somewhat sexualized characters straight out of the videogame. The plot is extremely easy to follow, and is a movie based on creating a hero from the down-trodden population. It is fairly acted, and has pretty good choreographed fights. That is about all."
"This film is adapted from the popularized "Tekken Video Game Franchise". Much of the casting consistent to the game's character design. It felt like a 1980s movie which I absolutely loved. As a martial arts enthusiast I appreciated the stunts, the depth of choreography. Final thoughts; you do not need to be familiar with the source material to either like or dislike. "
