"10/10 Serious movie. Well worth the subtitles (it is not dialog heavy). *tissues needed. This movie is from the perspective of a little girl as her and her family are swept up in a genocide. Based on one lady's memoirs who lived through the rule of the khmer rouge in Cambodia. Add it to your list if it's not what your looking for at the moment save it for when you are ready for a serious movie but do watch it."
"The Khmer Rouge is not often portrayed in films or popular books, but this is a well-done and powerful film about the Cambodian genocide. It’s based on a memoir and follows one girl’s experience. It’s not a light hearted movie, but it’s powerful. I’d highly recommend it!"
