"1st, let me explain what this movie is. Its the sequel to Snow White & the 7 Dwarves. No, it's not a sanctioned sequel, but that's what it's doing. Continuing where the previous story left off & it does it well.
As someone who always hated Snow White growing up, I never expected to like this. But I got bored 1 night when I was younger & youtube didn't have many restrictions on movies. Then I stumbled across this film. It shocked me. I did not expect to like it.
Don't get me wrong, it's not great but it's also not bad either. Compared to what it's making the sequel to, I'm impressed. I liked the way they expanded the story & enhanced the world. The way they go about creating the conflict was fun as well. The new villain I truly kind of adore. Plus, they helped expand on Snow Whites & the princes relationship. There's an actual connection there, & they enhance it with their own side storyline. I cannot express to you guys how impressed I was. Sure by today's standards it's probably just okay but for back when I found it, I was astonished by the way it broadened the story so much. It helped shape the way I held expectations for sequels.
There are some faults though. For one, instead of the 7 Dwarves coming back, their cousins make an appearance. It's really jarring to not have any of the original Dwarves show up. Plus, to have them replaced by female cousins just seems a bit much.
Finally, the ending. By golly, I haven't watched this movie in at least 10 years but I remember that ending. I felt suspense & was utterly invested in how it played out. It kept me on my toes the entire time but was such a simple concept that it seared it's way onto my kid brain & even though I haven't watched the movie in over a decade I still remember it vividly. (Before yall get angry wondering how I can review a movie when it's been that long, I remember every movie, especially the ones that impacted me as a kid & this one did).
I do recommend it. Won't be great but it'll be something."
"Underated! An absolute staple of my childhood that no one my age or younger ever seems to know about. The mud slide scene lives in my mind rent-free 20 years later."
