"We've seen love portrayed in films more times than anyone could count, but the love shown here is one of the few I'd describe as true. An on screen relationship such as this can only be as good as the actors portraying it: Shue gives a career best performance and Cage is on a completely different level; his performance transcends both himself and the film. It is just such a hauntingly gorgeous film. I love the way Mike Figgis captures Las Vegas nightlife. The colors shine bright in the 16mm photography, and the way it's edited makes it feel like a fever dream/nightmare. Leaving Las Vegas kicks my teeth in, in the most beautiful way, every time I watch it."
