"I have watched this movie a few times. The plot is sci-fi action, adventure and a story of soldiers against monsters. Mila Jovovich, of "Resident Evil," Tony Jaa, of "Ong Bak" and Meagan Good of " Biker Boyz,". play the role of soldiers and warriors. Mila plays the role of lieutenant Artemis, and is transported to a parallel or far away world in the middle of a mission, where monsters exist alongside humans. Tony Jaa's character is a warrior just trying to survive the crisis. The action scenes were good, and the acting was fair. This movie was based on the Capcom video game of the same name. The last scene of the movie looks as if it was set up for a sequel, which never transpired because of the reception of this movie. Perhaps it was the timing of the release, and the fact that it wasn't the epic the director thought it would be, but it is definitely an entertaining movie to watch with friends and some tasty popcorn. 🍿😄"
"This was better than expected, its not perfect, but surprisingly pretty good. The cinematography is sometimes very disorienting, but after the first 15 minutes it gets a lot better. I don't know anything about the games, and I assume it has almost nothing to do with them, but as far as films tied to games go, this is on the top 10 leaderboard."
"Eehh, didn't know what to expect since Paul W.S. Anderson doing the best Resident Evil films to date (at least the first three), but this felt the same as the last 3 Resi movies he made, and those were bad., and this time it's in a desert. With a Sandworm like monster. Thank you Dune. Acting was alright, the leads communicating was hilarious for all the wrong reasons. The ending was bad. Don't sequel bait on the first movie.
Don't recommend.
Also, I will admit to not being familiar with the Monster Hunter lore, but is there ever an interdimensional portal that transports militant people to other worlds in the game? Curious question. "
