Batman: Gotham by Gaslight

"I was pleasantly surprised at this animated adaptation of the Dark Knight. This was a true period accurate murder mystery set in the days of Jack of Ripper. Of course, given that the source material is about catching a serial killer, the storyline is dark, and somewhat violent. However, the intelligence and suspense of the story balance that out quite well. The voice acting is very good and the storyline moved at a good pace. The action was as good as any non-animated feature film. "

"Pretty good animation. Especially with the blimp. All the characters fit in with the time, the mystery was pretty good (Who is Jack the Ripper?.) However it never really focuses on the mystery too much in my opinion. It's just like "Oh there's this guy killing sinful girls! Who is it?" *40 minutes of no investigating later* "IT'S HIM!" It is a great movie, almost an excellent one. Great recommendation from me. "
