"This one broke my heart and made me cry when his dog died of starvation.
This was a sad yet inspirational story of a boy trying to help his dad with farming to be able to survive as well as help feed his village.
This just emphasizes greatly the importance of education and what it can do for those who crave learning and create inventions to help their communities."
"Such a rewarding film! Feature Film directorial debut of Oscar award winner Chiwetel Ejiofor, who crafted this incredible true story into a screenplay and also starred as Trywell, father of 13yo William Kamjwamba (played by a brilliantly young Maxwell Simba) who saved the lives of his family and village from famine in Malwai, Africa with his windmill generator (windmill water pump invention). The lovely , talented Aïssa Maïga as William's mother, Agnes, was incredibly inspiring & I will seek out more of her films for sure! Rated PG- please invite your children to experience this film with you.
"NGAYI MPHEPO YOFIKA KONSE" which means: ~ God is as the wind, which touches everything ~ ♡"
"Incredible movie, based on a true story. About a family in Africa that is suffering from both flooding and drought and losing their crops, as is most of their community. With little food to survive on, William (their middle child) begins to read about wind energy and starts experimenting with it by using materials found in the junk yard. He brings hope to his family and town, and shows how believing in yourself and believing in others is so important when it comes to making dreams come true."
