"I have seen this sports comedy a few times, and I still think the cast is unusual, but it works. John Krasinski plays a BMOC college graduate who becomes a war hero. The plot takes place in a time of American sports in which professional football is still in its infancy, and the plot really has fun with that. I enjoy George Clooney in roles like this; he plays the role of an aging athlete whose life is caught up in proving that professional football has a future, and wooing a newspaper reporter played by Rene Zellwegger. The movie is always fun to watch, and the plot has a balanced mix of comedy, romance, and a little drama."
