"As a woman & a human being with feelings, thoughts & emotions, I find her so genuinely relatable & witty & a great role-model for how to live your life: Don’t let anger harbor in your heart & “Laughter is the best medicine” 💕#LGBTQ #GayComic 🏳️🌈
▪️I found this article about Hannah's Comedic Style + her background in dealing with #homophobia very insightful: <https://floodmagazine.com/52579/her-story-is-ours-hannah-gadsbys-nanette-is-a-performance-to-push-us-forward/"
"This is *such* an important comedy special. Honestly. If you just want to have a laugh, this one is not for you. It's a scathing recount of trauma from childhood, interspersed with bits concerning gender and sexuality. Yes it is funny, but it's equally upsetting and triggering. Hannah won a Peabody Award, and an Emmy for this special, and quite rightfully so. If you want to truly feel, this is a wonderful piece to fit I to our collective comedy history, and please go watch it (Netflix). Yes you may feel sad, but you won't regret it. "
"At first she’s not “brave” the way some of the other women in my list are. But homosexuality was a crime where she’s from and she turned this to her (and other people’s) advantage! "
