"I am giving this superhero fantasy movie four stars only because of all the love and effort that went into the undersea battles and villain fights. The battles look vibrant and exciting. There are some generally good chase scenes and funny banter between Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Orm played by Patrick Wilson. The plot centers around Black Manta plotting revenge against Aquaman. All the other characters are there to support each of the 3 main characters and offer them bits of advice. Although I did enjoy the movie as a whole, it seems as if a large chunk of the movie is missing. A surprising character is revealed during the storyline and doesn't get much to do. The last act felt rushed, but seemed to act as a final movie as no more sequels are planned. I always enjoy Jason Momoa and his charismatic portrayal of his characters. I was glad to see everyone return for a final hoorah. But I can see why there was some dissatisfaction with the final product. Once again there is probably a director's cut that is much better, but I won't complain too much. Jason Momoa is done with this character. Maybe he can finally play Lobo in the DC Universe like he originally wanted to. There is a brief post-credits scene."
"A great sequel in body to the first Aquaman film as it expands upon the world building shown in the origin film, though the beginning scenes of the film should have been switched with the introduction of Manta’s dark thread then the light Aquaman thread of what he has been up to in the years between films!"
"This was a beautiful looking movie. There are some really great wide shots and excellent CGI. But that's about where the compliments end. Everything else was just "so-so". I didn't like that they re-used Black Manta as the villain from the first movie, instead of introducing a new threat. My biggest gripe with DC is that the writing is lazy. The story here was just pure 💩. Not as bad as Wonder Woman's second movie but not far behind either. Just proof that they (DC) are content with style over substance. Disappointing. 6.5/10"
"It was a great sequel to the first movie even though it did start out a bit slower. The end credit scene was funny. I found it to be very entertaining, and the effects were well thought out. The movie itself was focused on global warming. Also reminded me a bit of Black Panther with the advanced technology and the reveal."
"The action in the movie was great, but Im just not a fan of aquaman or dc films and I did remember about the wife being played by Amber and all her drama so I don’t know her whole role in the next movies if there is any. "
