"I finally finished watching the newest sequel of what was touted to be a pulse-pounding film. I have to be honest: I have mixed.emotions about that description. I didn't know until I pressed play that the movie is very very....long, almost three hours. Once I got started, I decided to watch it in three parts. The first 45-minute to 1 hour watch session, I admit, was a little dull, confusing, and somewhat slower than most of the previous sequels. In my second 45-minute watch, the plot sped up in places, and gave the viewer a bunch of different characters to watch blend into the storyline. Some are memorable, others are not. At times, I felt like the tone of the movie was a long chase scene, with stunts in between. Sometimes they make sense in the plot, but other stunts seem to be there just for the fun of it. I suppose you expect that in an action film. My last 45 minute session was the best: this was the type of high crescendo that an action film should finish on: high stakes, betrayals, and a shadowy foe that just may get the best of the hero. Overall, the best part of the entire film is the cast of characters. Although, I really felt that the cast was too large, and some actors seemed wasted with just a few lines, the acting is still strong. As always with these films, the scenery is eye-catching. The main plot of the movie is really stretched out over the almost three hour runtime, but as with most movies that plan out a sequel in advance, I imagine that the next part will be more plot heavy and hopefully have a smaller cast that will be easier to focus on. If you are new to this series, I suggest watching Rogue Nation first if you don't want to go back to the first film. Then you will understand the strong relationships between the current characters. There will be another mission in 2025."
"I'm not a huge fan of the Mission: Impossible movies, mainly because Tom Cruise annoys me. I can't really put my finger on the reason why, he just does. That is not to say that they are bad movies. There are a lot of really great action sequences to be seen in these films. This movie has some great action as well. A little over the top but exciting nonetheless. I was entertained. 8/10"
"This is the funnest time I’ve had at the movies since I was a kid. It’s no secret that I love these movies, and you gotta suspend disbelief just shy of F&F movies, but then it’s non stop. Every scene, and there are a lot, is an “end of movie” scene. 30 seconds of explanation then it’s the most exciting action. It’s tongue in cheek, and winks at us with humor several times. But I guess it won’t play that way with everyone. I think homie behind me didn’t appreciate all the laughing I was doing during all these utterly ridiculous yet heart pounding scenes. But still, the best stunt movie a long time. I’m sure there’s just as much CGI, but it doesn’t seem like it. It did seem like an eventual hand off of the franchise to Hayley, and I’ve never been happier about anything in my life. But damn, they just pushed my girl…never mind. I’d say Tom Cruise may have passed Hanks as the biggest movie star ever. "
"Looking forward to part 2."

"Tom Cruise is a badass! I really enjoyed all the action set pieces and the story felt incredibly relevant given the current state of AI in the world. My only complaint is that it seems like the director didn’t trust that the audience would understand what was happening because there were 4-5 different moments where the characters would give a bunch of exposition explaining what the “bad guy” was doing and why it needed to be stopped. It was a bit tiresome "
"Finally got a chance to watch it. What happened to this one? I found the cinematic videos and effects were very weak in particular the train scene. Maybe it was me but this was not as good as any of the previous ones. "

"Meh. First 3/4 of it moved fairly slow. The it all just sped up and the action came together right at the end. I’m a big fan of Mission Impossible movies but it feels like they are just milking it. How many sequels do we need? Glad I rented it, the best parts were probably covered in the trailer 😂"
