"I think it’s justified that this is near the top of every best ever samurai action movie list. For being 15 years old it holds up really well. From legendary and prodigious director Takashi Miike, it’s the ultimate underdog, stand up to tyranny at any cost story. Really well shot and directed. It takes its time to get there but the climactic ending is an all timer. "
"I enjoyed this a lot. I loved the cast and felt like they all had their fair share of moments. I really liked the dialogue( or I just liked the sound of it) either way I liked it. I also really liked how much of adventure it felt. The action scenes were cool especially in the second half near the end. Quite a bit of funny moments atleast I found funny as well as comedic moments. The antagonist surprisingly made me shocked at the stuff he did. He was pretty cool too. Definitely a movie I’ll remember fondly."
