Ascendant

"(This film also has the title of Wolf Rising now airing on Hulu Streaming.) I don't know anyone in the cast, but that is probably a good thing. I don't want this movie to be the only thing that I remember the actors for. Now I need to see a better constructed movie to wash this strange movie taste yuck 🤢 out of my consciousness. Why do I say that? Well......this movie tried to be so many things: sci-fi, drama, artful expression, and think piece. It sort of succeeds on a very small level. The acting was okay, but the story doesn't really begin to shape up until 30 minutes in. By the final act, we the viewer has seen some scenes of torture and agony, but also strange and surreal conversations between family members. I just cannot explain this properly. If you decide to watch this movie, be warned that most of it takes place in an elevator 🛗 or in brief flashback scenes. "
