Known for its dangerous, unsupervised rides and lack of regulation, guests of Action Park expected to walk away with injuries and were lucky if they made it out alive. Shirking the trappings of nostalgia, the film uses investigative journalism, original animations, recordings, and interviews with the people who lived it to reveal the true story of Action Park.

"I live in NJ and always wanted to go to Action Park. I remember hearing some friends talk about how wild and fun it was and I was jealous that I never had the opportunity to go. Not so much now after watching this documentary. It's amazing that Action Park stayed open as long as it did with all the injuries that happened on a daily basis. This documentary outlines how poorly designed rides overseen by teenagers, and uninhibited intoxicated patrons was a recipe for disaster. The story is mostly told with a sense of light hearted nostalgia, interviewing people who worked there and remembered it well. But then the tone changes when they put a spotlight on one of six people who died during their visit to the park. It made me sad and angry listening to the family tell how this boy died and there were basically no consequences. This was an interesting and enlightening documentary that shows that rules don't necessarily apply when it comes to the almighty dollar. 💵💰🤑 8/10"
"this was such a fun documentary! i grew up hearing about the injuries and deaths from this park, but was too young to have been brought there by any adult family friends before it closed. probably for the best.
i can't help thinking about how much i would have probably loved the colorado river ride (i was always frustrated as a kid for not being allowed to swim wherever i wanted, like under docks or across lakes, and getting in trouble for wrestling and injuring boys twice my weight). and then i'm torn, because i think about the fond reminisces played over footage of a graveyard containing a victim of the park. oof.
probably for the best i never went."
"Great doc! Incredibly entertaining and informative, has lots of laughs due to the incredulous ineptitude of the park but also some incredibly sad emotional moments. "
