"This was super cute and a good take on the “let’s help each other win over our ex’s” trope. It was well performed and extremely well written. Charlie Day and Jenny Slate were both endearingly charming, but their chemistry was where the film fell flat. They definitely had chemistry, but it was like they were platonic soulmates. I was rooting for them to end up as best friends at the end, and that’s really not the vibe you want for your main couple. The script worked perfectly; if they were played by different actors with more romantic chemistry, it would’ve made sense. Their friendship was wholesome and cute and, even though the ending implies that they end up together, I’m choosing to believe that they stayed besties and sadness sisters. "
"I am not a big romcom guy and I did not expect to like this one. But it’s actually a nice movie and I enjoyed it. Sure, it’s a bit formulaic like all of them, but it was well done, easy to watch, and plenty of opportunities to laugh. Enjoy it on your next date night or when you are just looking for something light to watch"
"It was alright, I didn’t feel the chemistry between the two main characters and the way it ended wasn’t the best. "

"Not great, painfully predictable, would've been better with anyone but Charlie Day who is just not fitting for this type of role. But I'm a sucker for anything Jenny Slate so...yeah I still watched it not expecting much, and my expectations were met. Meh. Could've done with some more Jenny Slate jokes, and we didn't even get to hear her laugh much, (just a little giggling which is still adorable.) Feels like a typical early 2000s indie NY romcom."
