"Watching this movie is like getting a snapshot into life immediately after World War II. This movie has heavy undertones of living a life of liberty, and patriotism, and emphasizes the resilience of the early American settlers. There are many things in this movie that can be looked at with criticism, such as the emphasis on slavery but using a white woman as a means to address this issue. Then, there is the vilification of The Native American people. This movie needs to be looked at with a critical eye, but can be recognized for its historical significance in the life of our country. Cecil B DeMille is an incredible Director."
