"This is the first time I've been disappointed by a Guy Richie movie. I usually like his heist movies, and his style of making period movies seem modern and edgy. This time, the heist made no sense. I should have known that this movie wouldn't be better than 2 or 3 stars ⭐ when I first saw Jason Statham. Don't get me wrong, I DO like some of Jason Statham's movies to a degree. He usually plays the same type of person in every role, and that works for him. I know what to expect. Hugh Grant's role was kind of a caricature, but it was fun to watch him at times. Carry Elwes spends most of this movie behind a computer, and stays away from all of the danger
I am glad that Carry Elwes got to do a better Guy Ritchie movie after this with Henry Cavill. As for the plot, it must have looked good on paper with the international filming locations, car chases, and a few spy to spy conversations. But in reality, this so-called story plays out like a high octane mess. Then, after a series of gunplay scenes, the movie ends. I am still thinking: What happened? 🤔😳 Watch it for yourself and decide what you think about it."
"I'm a fan of Guy Ritchie's work, and this movie is no exception. Not my favorite of his but it definitely has some interesting characters. It has a bit of an Ocean's Eleven vibe to it with a spy angle. Not a lot of action but the dialogue is good and keeps the story moving at a good pace. A pretty fun time when all is said and done. I give it a 7.5/10"
"It was OK, but I expected more out of a new Statham/Richie collab. They were going for a comedic take on a Mission Impossible-like scenario but most of the humor falls flat. Aubrey Plaza is wasted in her role. She would’ve been more fun if she had played the villainous rival who was always one step ahead of Statham. Hugh Grant was the highlight of the movie, he’s gotten playing the smarmy rich guy down to a science. 3 out of 5 stars"
