Quest for Zhu

"Anyone who knows me can tell that I will try anything & get into almost anything pretty quickly... This is one of the rare cases where I genuinely cannot say I enjoyed this movie. This is quite possibly one of the worst "movies" I have ever watched, but it gets extra points for having a plot that actually made sense with goals that were held up, for the most part, throughout the film. The characters aren't all terrible, & I care about them, but being "better than Kung-Fu Rabbit" isn't something to be super excited about. This is for Zuzu Pets. I know we can't expect My Little Pony or Transformers quality for every animated feature based on a toy line, but there could have been so much more here, especially with what WAS put into it. It doesn't need to be Alvin & the Chipmunks or even Littlest Pet Shop, but the random content in this movie & underwhelming graphics were enough that even younger direct-to-video sequel loving child me couldn't watch this more than once or twice. I still own this on dvd, I've seen it, but that's all I can really say positively about this. It's not a super enjoyable time, which is unfortunate."
