"This surprised me a bit. Going into this I didn’t expect too much. But I loved it. I still don’t really get some parts of it. Like why Brandon was super angry at the end. Maybe because he saw that his sister had that connection he couldn’t feeling during sex. That’s the only thing I could think of. I honestly kinda liked the ending even if you end up with a lot of questions. Whatever the real outcome of his sister. He would probably still end up keep doing what he was doing. Sissy was great loved her scenes. Both the two actors were great. I loved the classical music that was used during a lot of scenes. I don’t know why but it just makes any scene no matter the tone a lot better. I still don’t really understand the addiction itself but I found it very interesting. I loved those silent pauses between Brandon and marianne. It told you a lot about Brandon without saying anything. Really enjoyed this. Gonna keep looking for movies I never thought of watching."
"It's not a great story. Michael fassbender is full of surprises 😮 😳. It's a good watch if you're taking psychology, social work or addiction. The movie focuses on sex addiction and the unhealthy relationships that can form from that. The sub plot is also the dysfunctional relationship between him and his sister due to abuse in the family at a young age."
"This movie shows that sexual addiction is not a joke. Its an addiction just like drugs, and ruins people's lives. "

"Meticulously magnificent.
"We aren't bad people. We just come from a bad place"
What isn't shown in this fragmented character study can be interpreted in many ways, but none of them good. I think this slow-burn drama from Steve McQueen is a masterpiece. It is truly devastating, and I absolutely love it. Every time I watch this I feel a bit different because of where I am in life and this film is easy to connect with emotionally. I feel for Fassbender and Mulligan. Its a sad look at the lives of two broken people trying to function normally in society. This is such a powerful film, and really moving for someone, like myself, that has struggled with addiction. It consumes you. It can destroy the relationships you have. It can be the only thing that matters.
I can't recommend this enough. Beautiful cinematography, performances, direction, and overall message."
