"If you can’t already tell, this one is a difficult watch. It leaves you feeling the main character’s frustration, tiredness, and determination. For some monstrous people, a time loop simply represents no consequences. EDIT: two minutes after finishing Two Distant Strangers, I watched Cynthia Kao’s Groundhog Day For A Black Man, which is much less triggering in general, shorter/wittier, and feels more like an SNL skit. It’s also pretty clear NowThis collaborated with Netflix to lift the concept of Two Distant Strangers from a lesser known director to gun for an award."
"It was decent- watched it on Oscar Night for an Oscar winners marathon. I thought the idea was really unique and there was a definite message for change. I just wish there was more or that there was another factor to it. Overall, I thought it was very special for people of color and gun violence/police violence today. I think we need more films/documentaries/movies similar to this on the issue. "
