Anything’s Possible is a delightfully modern Gen Z coming-of-age story that follows Kelsa, a confident high school girl who is trans, as she navigates through senior year. When her classmate Khal gets a crush on her, he musters up the courage to ask her out, despite the drama he knows it could cause. What transpires is a romance that showcases the joy, tenderness, and pain of young love.

"Really beautiful movie, but there were some things I’d change. I had some issues with the portrayal of the best friends in this movie. Like, sure, some girls in high school get rejected by the guy they like and turn into a cartoon villain, but I wish we had gotten more of Em’s POV to understand what really led her there. Like, I wish her mother had been introduced earlier so we could see where she picked up that mindset, and I wish we’d gotten flashbacks of her friendship with Kelsa or her crush on Khalid. Props to the actress though, because I could see how hurt Em was even when the movie wouldn't really explain why (outside of being rejected for her friend, which definitely sucks, but getting your trans friend banned from the locker room and spreading rumors about your mutual friend poking holes in her ex’s condoms… don’t seem like proportionate responses?). Then there’s Khalid’s best friend, whose entire personality is just.. being a transphobe? And I guess Khalid never had a problem with that until his friend was transphobic to his girlfriend? So that’s… weird.
Still, there was a lot about this movie that I liked. The relationship with Kelsa and her mom was really beautiful, even if I don’t really understand why her mom was so freaked out about a YouTube video. The relationship between Kelsa and Khalid was cute, though I do think he owed Em an apology for rejecting her so publicly and going after her friend in one fell swoop. Like, his whole personality is that he’s supposed to be a Nice Guy, but that was definitely an asshole move, and it’s weird that Kelsa and Chris never made him apologize for it.
Still, cute story. I thought Kelsa’s interest in animals was cool and definitely lent itself to a story about the things that make all of us unique. I sort of wish she had talked more about the gender variance in animals because it’s really interesting. Like, male seahorses are the ones who get pregnant, and there are fish who can switch their sex. Neat stuff! "
"Such a wonderful movie! I'm bummed it took me so long to check it out. The chemistry between the two leads made this movie for me. I absolutely love Khalid. How open he was when dating Kelsa. It was so refreshing to see a positive, cute and heartwarming spin on a romcom. i hope to see more movie s like this in the future. It was just so lovely. ❤️"
