Silent Running

"Most of this movie is awesome. The little robots are great, the sets are great. Bruce Dern comes off as that uncomfortable coworker who is just waiting to go postal and definitely has some untreated depression that is not improved by his solitude. The only parts that make me roll my eyes a little are the long tirades he goes on about an environment he’s never seen and his own self-importance. It’s about five times less subtle and oversimplified than The Lorax and doesn’t always make sense (not sure how you can both not have poverty with such obvious scarcity and company cutbacks), but I’m still fond of it."
