"Four Brothers (2005) is a gritty, action-packed thriller directed by John Singleton. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese Gibson, André Benjamin, and Garrett Hedlund as four adopted brothers who come together to avenge the murder of their foster mother, Evelyn Mercer (Fionnula Flanagan).
The movie opens with a tragic scene where Evelyn is gunned down in a convenience store. Her four sons, Bobby (Wahlberg), Angel (Gibson), Jeremiah (Benjamin), and Jack (Hedlund), reunite in Detroit to investigate her death. As they delve deeper into the case, they uncover a web of corruption and deceit that leads them to a powerful criminal kingpin, Victor Sweet (Chiwetel Ejiofor).
Overall, Four Brothers is an entertaining and emotionally charged film that combines action and drama effectively. While it may not break new ground in terms of storytelling, it delivers a satisfying and thrilling experience for fans of the genre. If you're in the mood for a movie with strong performances and intense action, Four Brothers is worth a watch.

"Entertaining. The movie’s greatest strength lies in its characters and the dynamics between them. You quickly become invested in this estranged family, unraveling the story alongside them. It also has that early 2000s charm that’s missing in a lot of movies today, though it lacks the polish of modern films from the 2020s, a fair trade-off, in my opinion. I watched this based on a recommendation from a YouTuber I follow, and I wasn’t disappointed. I was specifically looking for movies to watch during the Thanksgiving season, and this one delivered. It has a lot of heart, and the sense of family it portrays reflects the core themes of Thanksgiving. Plus, with the story set during the Thanksgiving season itself, it’s as close to a ‘Thanksgiving movie’ as you can get without the plot revolving around the holiday. While not a perfect film, it does struggle with pacing at times, it’s still an enjoyable mix of drama, action, and comedy. The humor adds an extra layer of charm, and the family themes hit home. I’d recommend this to anyone who enjoys early 2000s dramas or action movies with a touch of humor. For the best experience, watch it around Thanksgiving to fully appreciate its message and tone."
