"This film had dramatic, jarring dream sequences that really awoke me to the dark side of humanity and connection. The main character works at a movie theater and meets a guy three times her age, metaphorically speaking, and they start a tempestuous relationship that eventually goes full-throttle off the rails. He becomes intensely controlling and she fears for her life, especially in dark spaces and streets. No one is completely safe, even for a second, as danger lurks perniciously around every corner. While I liked most of this, I also felt equally disturbed and traumatized from looking through the lens of a damaged character. Some of the dialogue felt a bit cringey and off-color and certain visual sequences really took me by surprise, but other than that overall an interesting, dynamic, layered representation of the toxicity and poison of a love gone wrong and awry. "
"It’s about a college girl who begins dating an older man but becomes suspicious that he might be a murderer. The film delves into themes of perception and the contrast in generational dating. Put them both together and you get Cat Person. I’ve never seen a movie quite like it. Weird but entertaining. Weirdly entertaining. Good watch."
