Since the beginning of her career, Sinéad O’Connor has used her powerful voice to challenge the narratives she was surrounded by while growing up in predominantly Roman Catholic Ireland. Despite her agency, depth and perspective, O’Connor’s unflinching refusal to conform means that she has often been patronized and unfairly dismissed as an attention-seeking pop star.

"7.26.23💧 Edit to original review: This is the saddest day. Sinead was an extraordinary talent and a vulnerable soul with a fierce heart in this world that never understood her or her brave honesty. Please watch this doc if you haven’t already.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/4 Very overdue doc. It mainly focuses on her early years, childhood abuse, career trajectory & the infamous SNL appearance. I remember watching that & the horrible fall out that stopped her star power in one fell swoop. It took years to really even hear her story & the reasoning behind the act. She was just automatically shut down & vilified. I always respected her stances on human rights & her conviction to never back down. Could’ve been more but happy her story is finally told. "
"Loved it. Sinead O’Conner has a powerful story and beautiful voice. Her story says a lot about how society treats child abuse survivors…and powerful, intelligent women. "
