"This was a beautiful, evocative, special film that really speaks to the depths of the soul. Beth is a crisis line operator who fields calls from all walks of life and discovers something new and varied in herself through the process of helping others. Each call requires problem-solving skills and offering of coping tools for those who struggle to find their meaning or just need a listening ear late into the night when internal demons awaken. This movie is for everyone: the ones who despair and have trouble looking forward to things, the ones that yearn for a brighter day, and those that urge to find the calm amidst the ever-shifting, eternal storm. This story just reminds that everyone struggles and feels alone at different conjectures, but can find joy in something, even if it’s the little things at first, whether it be a sweet, loving pet or a gentle walk to clear the head.
I genuinely loved this so much as it made me feel close to Beth as a character and what her reason and why is for living. I, like so many, deeply struggle with mental health and felt seen and heard by this remarkable, intimately inviting film into the human heart, struggle, and psyche. I could really feel each caller’s pain and need to just talk and let things the hell out. Release paves way to possibility of healing and having and nurturing deeper self-love. This film was intuitively well-versed in all things associated with the complexity of being human, alive, and feeling larger-than-life emotions that wreck and then rebuild ourselves. Don’t miss it! "
